THE PLAYWRIGHT
Rachel Lynett is a queer Afro-Latinx playwright. All of her plays are dark comedies that center on queer people of color and how they attempt to navigate through the various complexities of their existence. Her plays have been featured at Mirrorbox Theatre, Laboratory Theatre of Florida, Barrington Stage Company, Theatre Lab, Theatre Prometheus, Florida Studio Theatre, Laughing Pig Theatre Company, Capital Repertory Theatre, Teatro Espejo, the Kennedy Center Page to Stage Festival, Theatresquared, Equity Library Theatre, Chicago, Talk Back Theatre, American Stage Theatre Company, and Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. In 2017, her play Well-Intentioned White People was an honorable mention for The Kilroy's, and in 2020, Last Night and HE DID IT made the Kilroy's List. Rachel Lynett is also the Artistic Director of Rachel Lynett Theatre Company.

PRODUCTION TEAM
Maria A. Caprile (Director) has served as Artistic Director since 2017. She appeared in Winding Road's main stage productions of Good People, United, and August: Osage County as well as several Winding Reads, including Monica Bauer's Christmas Break and Toni Press-Coffman's Consolation. Maria is a part-time resident of Spokane, Washington, where she was a resident artist at Interplayers Theatre. She was nominated for Arizona Star's MAC award for her direction of The Big Meal, Stupid F*!#ing Bird, and The Fantasticks, which also received a nomination for Best Musical of 2018. Maria was nominated for a Spokie for her direction of The Christmas Schooner for nationally acclaimed Spokane Civic Theatre. She is the author and director of the original play The Little Mermaid: A Tale of Aloha, produced by Spokane Children's Theatre.

China Young (Production Manager) has been a member of the Tucson Performing Arts community since 2010, and a member of Winding Road Theater Ensemble since November 2018. She got her start in dance, with ballet and tap lessons beginning at age 4. Her first taste of theatre was when she was in Kindergarten, having been cast as a member of Children's Chorus in the musical Evita (and quickly declaring herself understudy to Eva Peron). She has been involved in theatre ever since, both on and off stage as a performer, director, producer, designer, and audience member. She earned her BFA in Acting at Texas Tech University in 2009 and her MFA in Contemporary Performance at Naropa University in 2017. She is often found collaborating with numerous local organizations including Winding Road, Scoundrel and Scamp, Cabaret Boheme, and Taming of the Review.

Kayleah Wilson (Erin) hails from the East Valley. She has been part of the theatre community all her life, and she wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Kayleah works full-time as a medical assistant, but finds any available outlet to share her talents. Some of her favorite past credits include Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, as well as Carrie Pipperidge in the beautiful classic, Carousel. She is excited to share such a valuable story in such a unique format, and sends love to her fellow cast mates. This is Kayleah's Winding Road debut.

Jonathan "MJ" Barbee (Adam) is currently a junior at the University of Arizona where he is studying Theatre Arts, with minors in Photography and Arts Administration. He started performing on the stage at 12 in his hometown of Orange, VA. In his free time, MJ is also a photographer for the university, a freelance worker, and is a member of the collegiate a cappella group, Notoriety. Breathe Me In is MJ's Winding Road debut.

Sarah Martino (Voice) is a Junior at the University of Arizona studying Special Education and Behavioral Therapy. She has been performing since she can first remember, whether dance shows, plays and musicals, or in the living room. She was last seen on stage in Carousel as a featured dancer. Her Winding Road debut was this past summer in their online ten minute play festival: Eight 10s In Tucson as Jason in The Bar Mitzvah of Jesus Goldfarb. Sarah is excited to get back to her craft after COVID put the halt on some projects. She hopes you enjoy the show and find the beauty in what she has found while playing Voice.

Colin I. Nossek (Original Music) is a composer and clarinetist dedicated to the creation of new, imaginative works that are accessible to a wide audience. He is currently studying at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music under Dr. Yuanyuan HE (composition) and Dr. Jackie Glazier (clarinet). Nossek's style is equally influenced by the classical tradition as well as bluegrass and folk music, which he was raised around for much of his early childhood. As a performer, Nossek is a proponent of new music. A member of the LGBTQ+ Community, he believes in diversity and is always looking to perform new works by BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ composers.

Ben Ritchie (Dramaturgy/Consultant) caught the acting bug as a freshman in high school and has been hooked ever since. He earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Pima Community College in 2010 and has been acting in various community productions since 2008. He was last seen in Romeo and Juliet as Friar John and various characters. Some of his favorite credits include Fred and other various characters in A Christmas Carol and the Duke of Venice and other various characters in The Merchant of Venice. As a member of the autism spectrum community, Ben is delighted and honored to have helped by giving his insight, experience and thoughts on living as an individual with autism and hopes his insight can help lead to more awareness and acceptance of autism through this production. This is his first time working with Winding Road.
