Selecting eight plays is, of course, a challenge so Winding Road enlists the aid of many local artists - including directors, designers, and performers - to evaluate all the plays using a "blind" scoring system. Personal data, production history, and other information is redacted from each script so as to not influence or bias scoring.

Tucson's Only
10-minute Play Festival

Launched in April 2019, "Eight 10s in Tucson" is a unique theater experience for Tucsonans.

Eight 10s gives theater-goers a wide variety of stories in a single evening's worth of entertainment, all produced, designed, and performed by local theater artists.

To present local audiences with a wide variety of stories and perspectives, Winding Road invites script submissions by playwrights from around the country each August 1st. Both the inaugural festival and the 2nd Annual festival drew more than 300 submissions each for consideration. And there are no submission fees!
