Winding Road Theater Ensemble continues it’s third season with Jason Robert Brown’s landmark 2001 one-act musical, The Last Five Years. The Last Five Years tells the story of Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hyatt, a struggling actress, through the five years of their relationship.
Winding Road Theater Ensemble concludes it’s third season with an American classic, Albee’s masterpiece Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? George and Martha are a bitter, older couple coming home from a party at the university where George teaches. They invite a younger couple, Nick and Honey, over to celebrate Nick joining the faculty. As alcohol oils old tensions and new fears, the evening moves excruciatingly into morning as many truths come to light.

A Brief History...
The members of the ensemble share a love of theater, and a certain level of frustration about the great plays that they would love to produce, but which have been unable to find a voice, even in a great theater city like Tucson. After extensive discussion and with a certain amount of trepidation, we have decided to pursue our dream.

Winding Road Theater Ensemble is a group of artists whose mission is to tell dynamic, theatrical stories that illuminate the human condition and celebrate the theater’s power to entertain us, to move us, and to bring us joy. Inspired by the disparate creative journeys that eventually brought us together, WRTE has a special commitment to developing new work by living American playwrights. We fulfill our mission by producing seasons of contemporary and classic works representing diverse styles, themes, and perspectives; and by presenting readings, workshops, and full productions of new plays.
